A journey through three distinct Ugandan cultures — Buganda, Sebei and Dodoth — rather than a single wildlife circuit.
This is a culture-first itinerary rather than a game-park circuit — built for a traveler who wants to meet Uganda’s people as much as its wildlife. It moves from the Buganda Kingdom’s royal sites in Kampala, east to the Sebei community at Sipi Falls, and north to the Karamoja region to meet the Dodoth, one of Uganda’s last semi-nomadic pastoralist communities.
Met on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transferred to Kampala for a restful first night, with no activities planned.
A full day exploring the seat of the Buganda Kingdom, Uganda’s largest: Lubiri Palace in Mengo, the Kabaka’s manmade lake, the Bulange Parliament and the Kasubi Royal Tombs. The afternoon is spent with a local family learning traditional food preparation and barkcloth-making, with the option to taste a meal cooked in the traditional style.
A scenic drive east across the Nile into Sebei country, with a stop at a roadside market en route. The evening closes with Sebei cultural entertainment at the lodge.
A guided hike across the three tiers of Sipi Falls, followed by a visit to an authentic Sebei homestead for a full crop-to-cup coffee experience — harvesting, drying, roasting and grinding.
A five-hour drive north to Moroto, in Uganda’s remote Karamoja region — a rest day with no activities, allowing time to settle in ahead of the cultural encounter to follow.
A day spent with the Dodoth people, semi-nomadic hunters and herders of the Karamoja plains — among the least-visited communities in Uganda.
A full day’s drive back to Kampala, with stops en route to break up the journey.
Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for departure.
